File relocation...
Hi Folks,
I got a question how to solve the below mentioned problem at best: I transferred my music storage from Drive C:\MyMusic\... to Drive D:\MyMusic\... What do I have to do to just change the drive letter (path) within the Virtuosa DB? Will "Update from Folders and Filename" do the job? Or would that duplicate all DB entries? "Import from..." would surely duplicate them. Worst case would be to delete all 13.200 Files and re-Import them from D: again. A rather lengthy procedure... I am a bit shy to test it with the amount of files stored ... Ciao, Axel |

Dear
In your case , you should use "Music and Movie Database\Change file Path" command in main "File menu" - Enter your old path "C:\MyMusic\" and your new path "D:\MyMusic\" in the editboxes. Also, you could click on "Preview" button to see the changes. - And Click OK to apply the changes in the Music Database... Before you could backup your music database (Virtuo32.vdb file in Virtosa folder) with Windows Explorer if you are not sure... Regards EricB |
